“Social workers should have a passion for the problem they would like to solve.”
I like being a problem solver and empowering youth. A rewarding moment in my career was helping a group of students make a video called “Start-Em Up Business.” The purpose of this video is to instruct parents, teachers, and community leaders on how to teach their kids about business.
While obtaining my social work degree, I learned to use the Problem Solving method to assist and empower people. I used this method to create my organization. It’s essential in our work and life in general.
Social workers should have a passion for helping people and be creative problem solvers. We should be armed with the philosophy, “Teach a man to fish and you will feed him for a lifetime.”
