Carol Juergensen Sheets, BSW, MSW
Media Specialist and Life Coach, Coach Inc. Psychotherapist, Indianapolis Psychiatric Associates, IN
“The most rewarding part of my job is watching people transform their lives and seeing the happiness that this affords them.”
For the first 20 years after getting my MSW, I maintained at least three social work jobs because I loved the diversity within social work; it allowed me so many opportunities for personal development and training.
Now I try to reach out and educate people publicly through the media. I‘ve had four radio shows, been a columnist in eight publications and I do news segments monthly. I also find it rewarding to teach for NASW: I love educating my co-workers. I also enjoy being educated and am constantly attending programs that are enlightening and empowering.
Having a social work degree allows me to work in any capacity imaginable…schools, hospitals, outpatient settings, clinics. The best part of being a social worker is the sense of heart and being the change that you want to see in the world.
