“I assist people in the process of self-discovery.”
My passion for youth development stems from my initial community service work in public education. I was moved by the overwhelming inequities and spirit of hopelessness that youth experience, particularly in schools.
My social work degree has helped me to have a holistic perspective in servicing people. In considering the whole person, I am inclined to take into account the varying external and internal factors that motivate behaviors and decisions.
It’s great to see clients have light bulb moments where they realize their potential and are empowered to become better people. Although this doesn’t happen all the time, I remain hopeful as I assist them through the process of self-discovery. One of my most rewarding moments was when I saw one of my former clients on the Oprah Winfrey Show. They were highlighting his educational success.
