“I love my job.”

I planned to be a CPA, but my adopted sister was murdered by one of her biological brothers when I was in college. Her need to go back and to be accepted by those who neglected and abused her made me want to understand the human process.

I enjoy that my social work skills can be applied in a variety of settings. I can feel comfortable doing medical rounds, sitting on a national board, visiting and servicing families, and facilitating parenting classes. I have been prepared to face whatever comes.

The best part of my job is when my parent center is filled with parents seeking resources to use with students at home. I love having my grandparent computer classes full of lively grandparents who are raising grandchildren. It proves that learning never ends.
