Inspired by the courage and determination of individuals with developmental disabilities, I chose to work on their behalf. The best part of a great day is visiting our programs and seeing all the people who are being helped. One of the most rewarding moments was when a woman ran up to me and thanked me for arranging for her transfer to a new community that we had just developed.

You should get into social work because you can achieve social justice on a macro level and foster self-determiniation and empowerment on a micro level. Just do it now. Don’t miss out. You can change society!
