“Ignore all of those who say you’ll never make any money.”

Social workers need unfailing appreciation for the diversity of all people; an acute and thorough sense of self-awareness; and a staunch commitment to explore the causes and issues behind the problems individuals present.

It is truly an honor to be trusted enough to walk with others through some of the most challenging times of their lives and join their pursuit to overcome these challenges. My most rewarding accomplishment was starting my own homeless shelter for youth in New York City. I also get a lot of satisfaction out of mentoring new social workers and seeing clients overcome the most dire circumstances to actualize their dreams.

A BSW degree provides four long years to acculturate into being a social worker and establish a solid professional foundation. MSW programs equip people with specialized skills and offer significant flexibility in areas of study.
