I work in an outpatient dialysis center that treats over 20 hemodialysis patients. My responsibilities include psychosocial assessments, concrete services, crisis intervention, education, depression and anxiety screening, and psychotherapy. The personal rewards, gains and growth are more than I ever imagined. Every day is different.

The best part of my job is when a troubled patient takes a step forward, when I see hope in the eyes of my patient or when I receive a smile. One of my most rewarding moments was a memorial service for our patients who passed away during the year. We invited staff and family members. It was a moving and reflective way to celebrate the lives of our patients that we had gotten to know so well.
